Student Spotlight
Spotlight Students at PVES are our “Character Education Students of the Month”. One or two students are nominated from each homeroom that exemplify REACH behavior and demonstrate good character. Students are nominated based on the character trait for the month that is identified by the school district. These words and definitions focus on the attitudes and personal qualities that build a foundation for success in life and work. These character traits are imbedded throughout the curriculum and are a daily focus of both students and school staff members.
Students selected as spotlight students are highlighted on a bulletin board near the cupola, featured on the news show, receive a certificate and earn a special recognition from administration. Teachers also recognize their students in their classroom.
In addition to the Spotlight Student recognition, one student is selected as Character Education Student of the Month for the school district. A written explanation is submitted as to why the student should be selected for the award. The student selected then competes for Beaufort County Character Education Student of the Month and will be recognized by the superintendent at the first School Board Meeting of each month.
